I was born in raised in the Florida panhandle, where I met my wonderful husband of 7 years. We have two beautiful kids, a son and daughter and two dogs who think they are people. I attended Florida A&M university in Tallahassee, graduated cum laude and became a registered nurse in 2010. I spent the next 7 years working as an RN in the Medical Surgical field and doing travel nursing. After my daughter was born, the seed that had been planted about midwifery grew. I wanted better for myself and for the women around me who had no other birth options. So, with a 1 year old I decided the next logical step was a Master’s degree in midwifery! I attended Frontier Nursing University and graduated with honors in 2018. I was briefly working at a women’s health clinic for low income, under insured or uninsured women in Pensacola, FL before the Air Force moved us here, to Alaska. I am beyond excited to launch my career as a CNM in such a close community and with a practice that values and empowers women in all aspects and walks of life. I look forward to living the Alaskan lifestyle and serving the community, women and families of the valley!
